Of Montreal-live at KEXP2

of Montreal – Coquet Coquette (Youtube)

Ah, isn’t it lovely to have of Montreal back and making their peculiar brand of slightly off-kilter alternative agit-pop? Yes, it is. I wasn’t really asking a question there.

That said, compared to their back catalogue this is a great deal more accessible with some very enjoyable guitars, and only a dash of swearing. It’s a fine introduction to the band, but I urge you to check out An Eluardian Instance for more special goodness.

The video has something for everyone though, provided that you enjoy at least one of the following:

  • Rafts
  • Cavemen/women
  • The odd bit of gore
  • Frottage
  • Beaches

It makes literally no sense but that’s fine because it’s several minutes of you’ll life that you’ll go on to cherish.
