There’s a couple of reasons to love this song. Number one, it’s a well put together electro-pop song with flashes of ABBA and flashes of brilliance. On the other hand, there’s the video.
I’ve seen videos described as more disturbing, but god forbid the Daily Mail ever find out about this one. The very concept must have taken some selling, because the idea of retrieving crash victims and playing with them, covered in blood, is not one that would strike you as a great idea for a video. And yet, for some compelling reason, it works. It’s both sick and enthralling at the same time.
Essentially it’s J. G. Ballard’s Crash, relived by people with a mental age of six. And that just makes it all the more bizarre. Easily the most interesting video I’ve seen in a long time.
Oh, and the track has a totally bitchin’ guitar solo as well. Something for everyone!
