16 Dec 2009I Blame Coco featuring Robyn – Caesar (Youtube)
Apologies for a lack of updates lately, people – I’ve started a new job and been doing stuff and other associated blah blah blah. But you don’t need to worry about that, because here’s a brand new track for you to get your collective faces around.
Most of the hype for I Blame Coco is going to come from the fact that she’s Sting’s daughter, and you can even hear a little of his voice coming through alongside Police-esque harmonies. That aside though, this is a really exciting new track, not least because Coco’s voice is so damn low. There’s a really quality to it that I didn’t see coming.
The track itself has shades of electro and there’s even a bit of New Order in there. The chorus is probably the highlight, though, given that it contains vocals by pop darling Robyn. Oh, Robyn! I thought you’d peaked after collaborating with Yelle (sort of) and Royksopp but this is just lovely. Especially when it’s snowing in England, for crying out loud.
Welcome to Bitter Fingers - a blog about music. Written by the hand of Mark Higgins, it serves up the very finest in new music videos, plus classic tracks and any other ace stuff he can think of.
