10 Nov 2009Two Door Cinema Club – I Can Talk (Youtube)
I’ve been waiting a long time for this video to pop up, since hearing the track about a month ago. Thankfully time if anything has enhanced my enjoyment of this.
I first saw Two Door Cinema Club on the BBC coverage of Glastonbury with the jaunty Something Good Can Happen. Since then they’ve clearly been moulded by record label Kitsuné Maison, purveyors of some of the finest compilations out there and probably my favourite label around. This new track has a proper electronic beat and is one of the catchiest tracks to come out this year form anywhere. Anywhere!
The video looks like an episode of The Clothes Show ravaged by a thunderstorm, which is no bad thing – if anything it adds to the shambolic charm of the track. Despite the strict beats it does feel like it could fall apart at any time, which is rather invigorating these days.
Oh, and I should end this post by wishing my sister a happy birthday, given that she’s turning 26 today, making her three years older than me for exactly four days. Happy birthday Ann!
