Housse de Racket – Synthétiseur (Youtube)

There are very few things I like in life quite as much as French electro. In fact, the only thing I like more is finding new French electro, so when a delight such as this barnstorming track from Housse de Racket turns up, it basically makes my life.

Synthétiseur hits you right in the ears from the off, as all good music should. Apparently it’s been doing the rounds for a while now, so how it escaped my notice I have no idea. (I was probably in the bath.)

Anyway, it’s got all the things you’d expect – eighties synths, robot voices, screaming guitars and perfect electro beats. Imagine if Justice got off their high horse and starting making music with Chromeo and you’re about halfway there.

These guys are touring the UK this month, and if I can go see them I very much will. I can only imagine how good this stuff is live. Synthétiseur is the future, or the past, or both, but regardless it’s amazing.
