Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man

Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man (Vimeo)

This song’s been getting a lot of airplay lately, particularly by Zane Lowe and on BBC 6 Music. The former is more surprising here, given the folk bent and acoustic guitars that make up this track.

However, it’s an exceptionally well crafted song and you can get any thoughts of jigs and reels right out of your head. Despite the bluegrass guitar, it’s a melancholy song of loss and longing with some lovely harmonies involved.

There’s also a little bit of swearing if the above hasn’t piqued your interest. Everyon loves swearing, right?
