The Sea Is A Good Place To Think Of The Future (Vimeo)

It look me a long time to get into Los Campesinos! for a few reasons. The first thing I heard from them, the exhuberant We Throw Parties, You Throw Knives was so tongue in cheek it was in danger of becoming permanently lodged there. I can tell why some people wouldn’t like them, but I can also tell why other, like Matthew Sheret who wouldn’t give up on telling me about them, loved everything about them.

This morning I woke up to a brand new track from them, courtesy of Kieron Gillen’s Twitter. As I’m seeing them in October, it’s great to know that they’re still making vital music like this. It’s a slow burner with a fantastic build up, and I’m sure it’s going to take me a while to fully de-construct Gareth’s lyrics, but I can’t think of a better way to wake up.
