J*DaVeY – End of Your World (Mama’s Back) (Vimeo)

Cool. Very cool. That’s probably the easiest way to describe J*DaVeY’s sound, and also the most apt. Taking influences from soul, pop and alternative rock, this singer and producer twosome are putting together some pretty exciting music, which I just happened to come across on my RSS feed this morning.

There’s a lot of sounds going on in this sound, but it’s been put together with some feeling and comes across smooth. The piano pounds through before being replaced by some Soulwax-esque beats. I can imagine this song getting riotous live if it had to, and that’s no bad thing.
