Friendly Fires – Kiss Of Life (Youtube)

I’ve posted about Friendly Fires before on this blog, which is only right considered how much I’ve enjoyed their self-titled debut album .You wouldn’t think this sort of pulsing indie pop could come from St Albans, but it does and Kiss Of Life could very well be their greatest pop song to date.

It’s being added as the lead single as they re-release their album, presumably to take advantage of the good word being spread after their exceptional live performances at festivals this summer. The island drums that background this song are pretty much the basis for this video – after months of indie videos in any colour you like assuming it’s black, it’s nice to get something a bit different like this.

Overall it’s a top song from a top band, and it’ll appear on more than a few best of summer compilations, if not best of year.
