17 Jul 2009Röyksopp – The Girl And The Robot (Vimeo)
How on earth I didn’t post about this at the time I have no idea. At any rate, here’s a post now of what could be the biggest electronic single so far this year.
It’s a mental song, to be honest. Massive synth on top of massive synth, with the power of Robyn’s vocals pushing right through the mix. Any song about robots is always going to feature highly on my list, but this is a well made piece of synth pop that showcases so many of the reasons that Röyksopp remain on top of their game. A swelling, magnificent pop song, and you can’t say fairer than that.
In other outstanding news, be sure to check out the marching band version of Happy Up Here. Brilliant lunacy.
