There’s something immediately Phoenix about these guys, whether it’s the tight compressed drums or the melodic guitar line. Not that it’s a bad thing – being compared to Phoenix after the superb Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is an honour indeed.

You’d probably never guess these guys were from Northern Ireland unless someone told you, but they’ve got all the indie pop attributes you’d expect for a new band at the moment – understated vocals, the odd vocal yelp in the background, and a lovely little tune to go along with it.

I saw them on the TV, performing on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury this year, and they’ve got their stuff together. They’ve got this first track out on the Kitsune label, which I personally don’t associate with lovely indie pop like this, so it’s going to be interesting to see how they go from here.
