Simian Mobile Disco – Audacity of Huge (Youtube)

To be honest, I was always a bigger fan of Simian Mobile Disco when they were an agitated, jerky indie band in the same vein as Clor, knocking out songs like La Breeze. When they moved over their more electronic sound, I began to lose interest.

That is, of course, until I heard Audacity of Huge. It’s got all the catchy beats they used to have, with a thumping electro backbeat and some fantastic namechecks in the lyrics. Any song that can reference both Mama Cass and Roombas in the same song has got my seal of approval.

The album doesn’t drop until mid August, but be expecting to hear this everywhere until then.
