A blog about music by Mark Higgins.

13 Apr 2009Through some miracle of watermarking or other sneaky record company tactics, Ciao! by Tiga, his follow up to the sublime Sexor, hasn’t leaked all over the internet. However, this track has, and what a track it is.
It’s radio-friendly, no doubt, in the same way that his cover of Nelly’s Hot In Herre was a few years back. The call and response between Tiga and himself (but pitched to sound like a sexy woman) contains his typical tongue-in-cheek lyrics, but it’s the synths and delightfully squidgy bass that really sells this one. A finer synth-pop track I haven’t heard all year.
It’s also got the benefit of a rather excellent video, delivered in 4:3 ratio and through 1970s cameras for the full effect. A lot of effort has gone into this track alone, which can only bode well for the album.
Welcome to Bitter Fingers - a blog about music. Written by the hand of Mark Higgins, it serves up the very finest in new music videos, plus classic tracks and any other ace stuff he can think of.
