Emma Pollock – Acid Test

In: Music Video

6 Apr 2009

For whatever reason the majority of my music falls into the very neat category of “blokes with guitars”, so occasionally it’s nice to be able to buck that trend with “woman with guitar”.

Inevitably Emma Pollock is going to draw comparison to KT Tunstall, being as she’s from Scotland and plays some rather nice indie music. You can hear that in there, but I’m getting a lot of PJ Harvey out of it as well. Which is never a bad thing. She was also in The Delgados, a band of indie legend up there with Belle and Sebastian or Teenage Fanclub, but alas I’m not familiar with their work.

Regardless, it’s a nice indie track for days when the sun actually stays out beyond five, and I rather like it.
